Como resultado del feriado de Fin de Año y Año Nuevo, Cuenca se benefició con el ingreso de USD 3’877.862 y una estimación de 48.478 visitas entre el 31 de diciembre de 2022 y el 2 de enero de 2023.
La despedida del año 2022 así como la bienvenida al 2023 se vivieron con alegría y entusiasmo. Así se evidenció el 1 de enero cuando se observó gran cantidad de juegos pirotécnicos y luces en toda la ciudad que fueron apreciados por cuencanos y turistas.
En síntesis el feriado deja resultados positivos para Cuenca, especialmente en el ámbito de la reactivación turística, pues se registró una ocupación hotelera del 71 %, lo cual ratifica a esta ciudad como uno de los destinos preferidos en el Ecuador.
Las operaciones en el Aeropuerto Mariscal La Mar de Cuenca, en el feriado de Fin de Año se desarrollaron con normalidad y con el personal operativo completo. Se verificó un total de 45 vuelos entre arribos y salidas, y un total de 4500 pasajeros transportados; además el día lunes 2 de enero se inició elbservicio aéreo en la ruta Cuenca – Quito – Miami, en la que se transportó a 121 pasajeros.
La Terminal Terrestre de Cuenca registró 2391 frenuencias entre intra e interprovinciales con las rutas más frecuentes desde y hacia Quito, Guayaquil, Paute, Gualaceo e Ibarra.
En otro aspecto, el feriado dejó un saldo de cinco siniestros de tránsito, un fallecido, un herido, nueve detenidos por conducir en estado de embriaguez, uno por no contar con licencia y cuatro vehículos retenidos por realizar transporte informal.
Las entidades de la Corporación Municipal como la Empresa Municipal de Movilidad y Transporte (EMOV EP), Guardia Ciudadana, Consejo de Seguridad Ciudadana realizaron labores coordinadas para atender emergencias e incidentes, mientras que la Empresa Municipal de Aseo de Cuenca brindó los servicios de barrido y recolección de desechos.
